To Minnesota & BEYOND!

After much stalling and summer-induced laziness on my part, I've decided to suck it up and get this blog moving again! :-)

I'm here today to tell you about our fabulous trip to Lake Country. Lake Minnetonka, Mound, Minnesota, USA: Beautiful, peaceful, and well, wet. :-)

Day 1:
Got up at 3AM, got to the airport at 5:30. That's where the fun started! Even though Chris was carrying it, I got the pat-down by security while they vapor tested the open bottle of Children's Motrin. Then, since there was apparently a "hit" (no clue what that means) they had to test it chemically, as well as search my belongings. Meanwhile, kids are freaking out and Chris almost got the car seat stuck in the xray machine. Since we got there two hours prior to take off, we took our time to the gate, getting there about ten minutes before boarding. (PS- Selena and Jason were still on the road, expecting to make it. Needless to say, they didn't.)
The kiddos were fantastic on the plane, I would pay extra every time to have the option of DirecTV for them to zone out on. :-) Thanks Frontier! lol.
Ben got a little fussy near the end and wasn't really himself that whole day. But who isn't cranky waking up that early, not napping, and in a new place? So we got there and Aunt Mary and Poppa Tony & Grandma Diana were there in SUVs to pick us and our stuff up. Headed to Target for a diaper pit stop and then out to Uncle Bob & Aunt Patti's house. :-)

We went to a farm about 5 miles from the house where Bob volunteers and where they raise chickens (naturally) for eating, and for eggs. They raise cattle (naturally) for eating, and for milk. They raise pigs (naturally) for, well, eating. :-) We saw baby baby cows, baby baby piggies, baby baby sheep, baby baby chickens... We saw a cow get his hooves trimmed, that was CRAZY! The kids loved it, and didn't want to leave!

Eventually, Selena & Jason got there, too. lol. We jumped on the trampoline for a while.. And Patti had invited all the family for a casual dinner so we got to hang out with the cousins and wine and dine with the family. Of course, Ben spiked a fever in the middle of the night - he was like a hot potato and was so so so sad and cranky.
